In the first interview of 2010 I was able to speak with Dorothy Wilson via phone and did not have the pleasure of meeting her. Given the opportunity a couple of weeks ago, I quickly raced to the Senior Center in Port Lavaca and was able to meet her face-to-face and learn more about her. It seems to me there has never been a dull moment for this Seadrift resident.
Of course, I had to share the experience with Dolphin Talk readers and my blog. Navigate to the video page to find photos of Mrs. Wilson and her collages of Seadrift’s past.

It was a pleasure to interview Dorothy Geraldine Williams Wilson and learn about her family history. I received a call from her right after Christmas, it left me in a daze thinking about the potential of this interview. Dorothy was born in Seadrift and has lived there most of her life, which is truly interesting. From the first conversation to the friend I now recognize as just Dorothy, I look forward to hearing the eager voice filled with laughter and wisdom on the opposite end of the line. She tells it like it is always is very vibrant and full of conversation.
Please surf back shortly for a video of Dorothy, thus far I have had only the pleasure of interviewing her via phone. There have been several occasions I was to meet her, but uncontrollable circumstances always prevented the video interview. Thanks for visiting! Later – Jasmine
I got a call a couple of weeks ago and could not believe who was on the other end of the line… The timing was perfect, I was just beginning to work on the next article for The Dolphin Talk’s 01.08.09 edition. You are really going to like this interview, I could write article after article about this long-time Seadrift resident.
It was such a great experience – I can’t wait until Friday!
A long day of interviewing, how interesting it is to find out more about the people that make up our coastal community. The next edition of The Dolphin Talk comes out Dec 18th. I look forward to it as well.
Well after two weeks of vacation from The Dolphin Talk we are back! The new issue comes out Dec. 12th. I am on my way to interviews for the next article. I’ve been wanting to do this for some time now and finally have the perfect opportunity. I wish everyone a festive holiday spirit.
Art is represented in many forms and mediums, it is not often one gets to experience modern art in our community. Whether it is liked or disliked, at the end of the day one has ventured a path unknown. As a designer, art is symbolic in my everyday life, whether sketching thumbnails for a logo or simply capturing a sunset full of an array of powerful colors.
With that in mind, I encourage you to view the video interview of Dieter Erhard. He is inspirational to other artists and a kind soul merely set out to portray an important message via art. Visit his website at www.artcenter-seadrift.com or call 361.785.5050 and learn more about abstract and modern art located at601-609 Broadway, Seadrift, TX.The Art Boat features artists from Japan, Guatemala, Germany and a multitude of local artists.
Just checked the stats for the blog and video views… I greatly appreciate everyone’s support. CAMPAIGN: SUPPORT SEADRIFT! – full force.
I appreciate the hits, makes it all worthwhile. Please check out the bonus video, I just posted it minutes ago… With the amazing response to the first video check out the most emotional part of the interview on the video blog page. Have a good weekend – later, gater – Jas
